2026 Film Challenges
We’re telling you all of the NFC Challenges ahead of time. Why?

It gives you a chance to see what challenges you’d like to take part in and more time to come up with an idea.
There is a catch... we're still not giving away:
-
How long the film will need to be
-
If you need to include a specific prop, line of dialogue or something else...
-
And some challenges will require you to follow certain guidelines

So take a look at the challenges and the log lines for each below, mark your calendars and start brainstorming. Remember, you can't begin working on a film challenge until the start date but you can definitely start thinking on ideas and getting a crew organised to take part with you!

How to Get Involved
Newcastle Film Club challenges are opened for anyone to participate. You must abide by the Newcastle Film Club Code of Conduct, film challenge rules and not start creating any aspects of your film before the challenge start time. We require proof that you shoot or completed your film within the challenge timeline.

In order to hear all of the challenge details for each, we encourage you to come along to the challenge launch events where we will go through all of the details about the challenge, what you will need to include in your film and prizes for each event.

Challenges once launched will have their own dedicated page on our website where you can view all of the details for that challenge and learn more. Check the Challenges tab for more information.
Film Challenge Judging
The judges look at all of the submissions and give the films a rating based on certain criteria. Together, their scores are combined to determine the winners of each category.
