Crew Application

Thank you for wanting to get involved and work on NFC's upcoming film productions in 2026. We have 3 films we are making as a community this year which you can find on our Club Films page. Those listed as 'In Development' are the ones we are currently making. 

 

Anyone 18+ can apply to participate on Newcastle Film Club Official Short Film. Applications open April 13, 2026. Each film has it's own deadline for submissions which you can find below.

Please note that all films are voluntarily produced and crewed. NFC will cover crew transportation costs and food during the production and rely on members donating their time and talents to help create the film.

When is filming?

Filming for SHAFTED takes place over 4 days in July 2026. If you are applying for a role on Shafted, please ensure you provide us with you availability for weekends in July.

Where can I read the script for these films? 

Come along to an upcoming film club meeting where we will have scripts for all films available for you to read. If you are applying for a role and asked to do an interview (such as for director or cinematographer) you will be sent the latest version of the script to prepare for your interview prior to your meeting.
