Enjoy an evening of cinema and Q&A for the feature film, ICELAND IS BEST at the Newcastle Everyman on 18th August at 6pm (finishing questions at 8.30pm).

The director and producer will be present to answer all questions relating to the making of this poignant true-life story of a girl who tells her parents she is leaving her Icelandic fishing village to go and live in California. Shot on 35mm film stock in the teeth of an Iceland winter, this is a movie that has high production values but which also falls firmly within the traditions and practices of Indy filmmaking, especially of the US kind, where NAPOLEON DYNAMITE and CLERKS were key inspirations for us. Financing any such venture is also an exercise in rock'n'roll and not for the faint-hearted. With performances by an authentically teenaged Icelandic cast as well as by the legendary Judd Nelson (THE BREAKFAST CLUB, ST ELMO'S FIRE) and Tom Maden (13 REASONS WHY, THE SCREAM), the film is quirky, charming and moving account of just how hard it is to leave home.
